What makes our school a Christian School?

Our school is a Christian school because we think of other religions and we treat people with different coloured skins how we would like to be treated. We treat everyone with respect, and fellowship and respect diversity.

We are also a Christian school because we praise/worship every school day. We worship in several ways:
Singing, praying and going to church.
We learn about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit by listening to bible stories. We also have people come to visit us like the Vicar.

Every year we do a Christmas nativity play. The 2005 play was called “Manger Mouse”.

We are a Church of England School and you can tell this by the crest on our jumpers and by the sign outside our school. The church owns the building and the grounds.

On a Friday we have a sharing assembly. If anyone has a birthday we sing a special hymn which we sing. This is it:

Comes a birthday once again
Happy day oh happy day
Through the sunshine and the rain
God has brought us on our way
Father let the new year be
Bright and holy, sweet and true
Keep oh keep us close to thee
Day by day
Our whole life through.

Each night we also say this prayer before we are dismissed:

Lord keep us safe this night
Secure from all our fears
Let angels guard us while we sleep
‘Till morning light appears again.
